Job Title: Packaging Systems Manager

Job Description

This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to work with our team in delivering technical expertise and service excellence to customers across Australia and New Zealand. As a Packaging Systems Manager, you will play a key part in developing and delivering machinery-based packaging solutions that exceed customer expectations.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in developing and implementing cost improvement strategies and improving overall efficiency. You will also have the opportunity to work on different projects, creating and implementing innovative solutions to meet customer needs.

This is an engaging role where you can utilize your Operational Management experience and further develop the team around you. You will be responsible for leading a safety-first culture across the machinery services team, ensuring safety is at the heart of all operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of Maintenance Managers and Technicians to drive the development, delivery, and ongoing improvement of packaging systems as part of the National Packaging Systems Team.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of scheduled and reactive maintenance programs to help maintain equipment uptime, performance, and compliance.
  • Working closely with the sales team to explore and deliver technical solutions that add value and respond to changing customer needs.
  • Preparing cost and value assessments for key projects, helping demonstrate benefits for both the customer and the wider team.
  • Helping shape and manage a forward-looking service schedule and materials plan that aligns with expected volumes and operational needs.
  • Developing maintenance strategies that flex with seasonal patterns and specific site requirements to ensure continuity and efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of Operational Management experience.
  • Specific market experience of at least 5 years trading and installing various equipment, preferably in the corrugated industry.
  • Previous Project Management experience from concept to implementation.
  • Strong financial and budgetary acumen.
  • A strong understanding of related business processes, such as purchase orders, invoices, and work orders.
  • Broad international exposure to machinery vendors.
  • Qualification in engineering or trade-related fields would be well regarded.
  • Experience in leading teams and managing relationships.
