Hardware Engineer

L3Harris is seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer to join our team in Brisbane, Australia. As a Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative electronic systems and circuits.
Key Responsibilities- Design and prototype new power and control circuits, including programmable logic devices, and modify existing products as needed.
- Program and simulate logic circuitry in VHDL using Xilinx.
- Develop software for microprocessor-based circuits, including serial communications interfaces.
- Generate DC schematic diagrams and lay out DC PCBs using Altium.
- Create DC power budgets to track power consumption.
- Document product design, either directly or through supervision of contractors or drawing office staff as appropriate.
- Perform stress analysis and reliability predictions.
- Qualify new products, including EMI/EMC testing.
- Communicate with customers and present design details during customer reviews.
- Manage project schedules and meet financial and time constraints.
- Participate in R&D meetings to evaluate new technical opportunities and contribute to company strategic direction.
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
- Experience as a Hardware Engineer.
- Experience in programming and simulation of logic circuitry in VHDL using Xilinx or Altera.
- Knowledge of Altium with regards to generating DC schematic diagrams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Accuracy, thoroughness, persistence, and attention to detail.
