Library Specialist: Electronic Resources Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Library Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the acquisition and management of electronic resources and the institutional repository.

You will contribute to ensuring seamless access to scholarly content for our students and academics by working with licenses, invoices, metadata, and systems. This includes analyzing usage statistics, negotiating pricing, evaluating licenses, conducting trials, and ensuring compliance with critical timeframes.

Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining access to electronic resources, troubleshooting access issues, and liaising effectively with vendors and IT staff.

In addition, you will process repository records to ensure they are accurate, complete, and follow relevant metadata standards and comply with copyright, embargoes, and Open Access policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A professional qualification in librarianship recognized for associate membership of a national library association
  • Strong attention to detail, with well-developed analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret, assess, and apply technical and procedural documentation
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within and across teams
  • Capacity to quickly learn new systems and adapt to changing workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
