Career Development Advisors are key professionals in driving inclusive employment outcomes for individuals with intellectual disability. This role focuses on connecting people to local job opportunities through proactive employer engagement and tailored support.

Inclusive Employment Australia is a national program empowering people with intellectual disability to prepare for, gain, and sustain meaningful open employment. It focuses on person-centred support, employer engagement, and creating lasting inclusion in the workforce.

The Role

This front-line, target-driven position combines case management with proactive employer engagement to create sustainable employment matches that benefit both the individual and the business. As a Career Development Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission by providing tailored support, career development planning, and a strong customer experience for participants and employers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build relationships with local employers and identify job opportunities through networking, cold calling, and business development.
  • Work one-on-one with participants to understand goals, address barriers, and develop employment pathways.
  • Match participants to suitable roles and support them through recruitment, placement, and post-placement care.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation aligned with contractual and organisational standards.
  • Meet performance targets and KPIs related to placements, customer satisfaction, and business development.
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced professional with:

  • A background in employment services, recruitment, training, or community services.
  • Proven success in a sales or target-driven environment.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • An understanding of employer needs and the local labour market.
  • The ability to work independently and in a dispersed team environment.
  • Experience working with people with intellectual disability or other support needs (highly regarded).
