Environmental Project Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environmental requirements, tenure and statutory approval processes for new projects. This involves understanding the interaction between technical requirements, design elements of project infrastructure and stakeholder and regulatory needs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support business development during the ideation, pre-feasibility and feasibility study phases for prospective development projects.
  • Oversee the development and design of innovative land access, statutory approval and impact mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct assessments, prepare reports and provide advice on sound environmental management practices.
  • Lead negotiations for agreements with Traditional Owner groups to manage Native Title and Indigenous Heritage aspects of development projects.
  • Contribute to the preparation and detailed review of EPC contract documentation as required.
  • Lead negotiations with landowners, customers and other stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Environmental Science, Construction or Sustainability.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role in mining, construction or with energy projects.
  • Project development or project management experience on infrastructure projects from $10m to $100m+
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with capacity to influence and negotiate.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and direct multiple workstreams, consultants or contractors.
  • Experience in Indigenous relationships, Indigenous engagement and heritage management.
