About Our Arborist Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Arborist to join our team in planning and delivering capital and operational programs, as well as providing expert tree protection services. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing customer requests for arboriculture works, implementing the council's tree retention policy, and overseeing tree maintenance contracts.

  • Developing and implementing effective strategies to meet customer needs and expectations
  • Providing expert advice to stakeholders on arboricultural matters
  • Managing and maintaining high-quality tree stock within urban environments
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Assisting with the development and delivery of tree management policies and programs

Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in horticulture or arboriculture, or a related field, and relevant experience in the arboriculture industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in arboricultural report writing and assessment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
