We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Parole and Specialist Case Manager to join our team at the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
This is an ongoing, full-time opportunity based in Melbourne CBD, where you will play a critical role in supporting community safety by proactively motivating and engaging prisoners on parole and supervision orders.
As a Parole and Specialist Case Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality case management to a caseload of high-priority individuals who have committed violent and sex offences under correctional supervision.
You will work closely with clients to develop and implement individualized plans, using strengths-based case management approaches and dynamic risk assessment in line with Corrections Victoria's Offender Management Framework.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing exceptional service user engagement and management skills, including excellent motivational interaction interviewing techniques.
- Producing relevant plans and reports, as well as Departmental and Ministerial briefings, general external correspondence, and reports to key stakeholders.
- Meticulously managing CCS service user files.
We are looking for someone with:
- Knowledge of best practice case management frameworks and theoretical concepts to reduce risk and maximize individual outcomes.
- Relevant qualification in social work, psychology, or a related human services discipline (preferred) or criminal justice, criminology (desirable).
- Ability to communicate with a range of individuals and backgrounds and apply sound professional judgment when required.
