About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Compliance and Risk Management to join our team at Youi. As a key member of our Enterprise Risk, Compliance, and Assurance (ERCA) leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization complies with all relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Develop the Compliance Team: Foster the growth and development of your team, ensuring alignment with ERCA objectives and promoting a culture of compliance.
  • Drive Compliance Strategy and Priorities: Collaborate with the ERCA team to develop and implement effective compliance strategies, addressing issues across the organization and ensuring timely completion of compliance projects.
  • Oversee Regulatory Responses: Manage breach reporting, compliance obligations register, and regulatory responses, ensuring that our organization stays ahead of emerging risks.
  • Provide Strategic Input: Offer strategic guidance on compliance training, policies, and incident management to support a strong risk culture and deliver comprehensive compliance reports to senior leadership and the Board.
  • Champion a Culture of Compliance: Integrate compliance into business decisions, ensuring that our organization remains compliant with all relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, law, actuarial science, risk management, or a related discipline. MBA or a master's degree in any of the above fields is preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in a Compliance role within Financial Services, with in-depth knowledge of Australian legislation and regulations that apply to a regulated general insurance entity.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and people management abilities, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, exceptional attention to detail, and effective time management, multitasking, and prioritization to meet deadlines.
  • Personal Qualities: High integrity, professional accountability, adaptability to change in a dynamic environment, and a proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities.
