About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager Technical Services & Long-term Planning to join our team at Stellar Recruitment.

This is a key leadership role that will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of long-term planning, including strategic exploration and resource evaluation studies, life-of-mine planning, and project evaluation and execution.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in geology, geosciences, or a related field, with extensive experience in various types of mineral deposits and exploration methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of long-term planning, including strategic studies and life-of-mine planning
  • Oversee project evaluation and execution, ensuring the company realizes its resource extraction potential and maximizes economic value
  • Develop and implement effective exploration strategies, including field-based exploration, drilling programs, geophysical surveys, and geochemical analysis
  • Manage and lead a high-performing exploration team, inspiring and developing team members to achieve their full potential
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, operational teams, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geosciences, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in various types of mineral deposits and exploration methodologies
  • Proven track record of successful mineral discoveries and resource development
  • Strong knowledge of geological software and data management systems
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing exploration team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex geological data and make sound technical decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences
  • Significant knowledge of relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in the mining and exploration industry
  • Project management experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple exploration projects simultaneously
