Role Overview:


Synaco Global Recruitment is partnering with a leading mining and resources company to find an experienced ASD Tug Operator to join their Port and Logistics team in the Northern Territory.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Perform harbour towage in line with the operational plan.
  • Act as Engineer when not performing Master duties.
  • Take command of the Tug and its crew when acting as Master.
  • Complete preventative, corrective and statutory maintenance on the vessel.
  • Raise and complete SAP work orders for vessel maintenance.
  • Maintain 100% compliance and completion of planned maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate the attendance of crew for operations and ensure readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with site authorised policies and procedures.
  • Manage crew discipline and supervision.
  • Complete operational reports and vessel logs.
  • Induct and train visitors, employees and other authorised personnel.
  • Lead and motivate the vessel crew on safety management.
  • Participate in safety training and operational improvement exercises.
  • Review and update operational procedures and safe work instructions.

What We Offer:



  • $65.00 - $67.50 per hour flat rate.
  • 10% loading on hours worked outside of shift times.
  • Flights from Cairns or Darwin.
  • Work life balance – 1:1 roster.
  • Accommodation and meals provided whilst on site.
