Drill and blast operations play a pivotal role in our mining endeavors, demanding exceptional supervision to ensure safety and efficiency. This critical position involves orchestrating drill and blast activities while fostering collaboration with personnel and equipment.
- Strategic allocation of personnel and equipment to meet production targets.
- Effective communication of drill and blast requirements at pre-start meetings.
- Streamlined coordination of work-crew responsibilities, ensuring employees are aware of changes and adequately trained for tasks.
- Compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental protocols among all employees.
- Technical guidance on Drill and Blast operations, along with delivering training sessions as required.
- Clearance and notification procedures post-blast.
- Monitoring shift performance against drill and blast targets and implementing corrective measures when necessary.
- Documenting any discrepancies from the drilling and blasting plans on the shift report.
- Ensuring transport of blasting materials adheres to statutory regulations via purpose-designed vehicles.
- Investigations into accidents or incidents as needed.
- Liaison with Workshop Manager to plan routine maintenance activities.
- Conduct scheduled audits and inspections of magazine and facility.
- Nurturing strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Possession of an unrestricted shotfirers license.
- A proven track record of promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
- Experience as a senior team leader driving performance through effective leadership and mentorship.
- Extensive experience in open-pit mining, preferably within the Nickel, Copper, Gold, Lithium, or Iron ore sectors.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills allowing seamless collaboration across teams.
