About the Position:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting intake assessments, AOD screenings, and risk assessments to provide appropriate support services.
  • Collaboration with young people and families is key to this role, working together to develop care plans and deliver brief interventions.
  • A multi-disciplinary team approach will ensure that the candidate has the autonomy to manage their case load effectively.
  • Fostering community relationships, attending network meetings, and leading mental health awareness initiatives are essential responsibilities.

Requirements:
  • Approved tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, OT, or Mental Health Nursing, along with full or provisional general registration with AHPRA or AASW eligibility.
  • Experience working with young people (12-25) is necessary, providing mental health care, assessments, risk management, and brief interventions using sound decision-making skills.
  • Able to plan recovery and support needs using a shared decision-making approach and family-inclusive framework, experience in group-based interventions also required.
  • Skilled in community engagement, group interventions, and working with diverse populations, including LGBTIQ+ and First Nations individuals.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to trauma-informed, gender-affirming, and culturally safe practices.
