Job Title: Primary Physical Education Teacher

Job Description:

A highly sought-after opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate Primary Physical Education Teacher to join our school community. As a key member of our teaching team, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative physical education lessons across Foundation to Year 6. This full-time position commences in Term 4 and offers the successful candidate a rewarding and challenging career path.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students. A strong passion for physical education and a commitment to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment are essential for this role.

In addition to delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs, the successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and implementing curriculum that encourages physical fitness, motor skills development, and overall health within the Victorian Curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a curriculum that encourages physical fitness, motor skills development, and overall health within the Victorian Curriculum
  • Lead students in various physical activities, sports, and exercises to enhance their cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and coordination
  • Provide guidance and constructive feedback to help students improve their individual and team-based skills
  • Instil values of sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork through organized sports and group activities
  • Use various assessment methods to gauge individual and group performance, providing feedback for improvement
  • Create an inclusive environment that accommodates students with different abilities and learning styles
  • Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring everyone can participate and experience success
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment during physical activities, implementing proper safety protocols

Requirements:

  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration
  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree)
  • Demonstrate previous experience in general Primary/PE in Australia/NZ
  • Graduates welcome to apply
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)
