Job Summary

Aml Compliance Specialist Role

We are seeking an experienced AML Compliance Specialist to join our team in the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting day-to-day tasks related to AML/CTF legislations, supporting the AML Manager in managing adherence to group requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct enhanced client due diligence at initial onboarding and ongoing reviews, utilizing electronic databases and public information to form a comprehensive view of clients.
  • Perform quality assurance sampling checks on various processes such as onboarding, verification, and transactions.
  • Assist the AML Manager in producing management information reports.
  • Review transaction monitoring alerts and investigate unusual activities, escalating suspicions and submitting suspicion matter reports as required.
  • Collaborate with the AML Manager to develop and maintain transaction monitoring rules and typologies.
  • Conduct periodic AML/CTF risk assessments and other ad-hoc compliance assessments.
  • Support AML compliance on new initiatives and projects assigned by the AML Manager.
  • Coordinate regulatory or AML/CTF audits and prepare regulatory reports for entities.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial crime-related role within a financial institution.
  • Robust knowledge of Australian AML/CTF legislation and regulations, with similar knowledge of overseas jurisdictions desired.
  • Familiarity with investment and trading products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a collaborative approach.
  • An analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently with a positive attitude.
