We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to join our Melbourne Energy Team as a Senior Primary Engineer. This presents an opportunity for an accomplished primary systems engineer to work across both transmission and distribution projects.
Key Responsibilities- Be instrumental in concept and detailed design of substation primary systems and earthing systems for key clients across Australian and New Zealand.
- Lead and oversee projects, including conducting site visits, inspections and writing design reports.
- Interface with clients on existing projects and leverage future opportunities with senior members of the team by partaking in bids.
- Provide technical expertise in accordance with project time, quality and cost objectives.
- You will support the Principal Engineers and develop design associated with HV systems including cable rating, earthing, lightning protection and insulation coordination studies.
- University Degree – BE Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) with RPEV or ability to obtain.
- Ideally, 5 + years relevant experience in transmission and distribution primary substation design and/or utility grid connections.
- Experience with industry standard software (CDEGs, CYMCAP, PSCAD etc.) with knowledge of Australian standards and codes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of being able to work cohesively in a team on large, multidisciplinary projects.
