About the Role

The Cataloguing, Taxonomy and Data department plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality catalogue records and systems. As an Archival Data Analyst, you will validate, transform, and process complex textual data using SQL, JSON, and XML-based structures.

You will work with stakeholders to gather user requirements, explain technical concepts to non-technical staff, and lead project teams. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential for this role.

A combination of onsite and home working is available, with a minimum of 60% of work time required at site. Security Clearance or willingness to obtain clearance is mandatory for this role.

  • Data Technologies: Excellent skills in Python and experience using XSLT, familiar with pattern analysis, and broad knowledge of relevant technologies for encoding, cleansing, manipulating, and analyzing complex structured and unstructured data.
  • ETL Processes: Knowledge of how to extract data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files, with demonstrable ability to clean, format, and transform textual data.
  • Data Governance: Understanding of data governance practices, including data quality, reference and master data, and data interoperability.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during ETL and data migration processes.
  • Communication and Relationships: Strong communication and relationship-building skills suitable for working with stakeholders at all levels.
