Position Overview
This role is integral to the ReSet consortium, which is spearheaded by Wungening Aboriginal Corporation, aimed at assisting individuals in correctional facilities to forge new paths and disrupt the cycle of reoffending. As a member of a collaborative team, you will be tasked with delivering thorough throughcare support services, incorporating evidence-based methodologies for rehabilitation and reintegration, in alignment with the Department of Justice's Individualised and Integrated Offender Management (IIOM).
This is a full-time position based in the Gosnells office, with regular engagements at metropolitan prisons and community outreach initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments to formulate case plans and referrals tailored to identified needs.
- Implement case management and counseling strategies to facilitate offenders' reintegration into society.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including case notes, assessments, and support plans.
- Develop collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct family and domestic violence risk assessments, safety planning, and risk management.
- Assist individuals in crisis through specialized referrals and customized throughcare programs.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary degree or Diploma in Community Services, Counseling, Criminology and Justice, Social Work, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Justice Setting or similar environment, with expertise in clinical, case management, and counseling.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children involved with the justice system.
- Strong networking, negotiation, and liaison skills with external and governmental agencies.
- Proven capability to work effectively within a team, contributing to culturally responsive service delivery and positive client outcomes.
- Eligibility to obtain a National Criminal History Record Check and Department of Justice Integrity Check.
- Possession of a current 'C' class driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check are required.
