Prosecutor - Northern Territory Government

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Criminal Law Advocate to join our team at the Northern Territory Government. As a key member of our prosecution team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and representation in complex criminal cases.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain carriage of complex criminal prosecutions in Supreme Court trials and the Court of Criminal Appeal.
- Conduct jury trials, sentences, and breach applications before the Supreme Court, appear in committal proceedings, and contested summary prosecutions in the Local and Youth Court.
- Provide representation for the prosecution before all courts of the Northern Territory and the High Court of Australia in less complex prosecutions, appeals, and related matters.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in criminal law and advocacy.
- Knowledge of the DPP Guidelines, the Criminal Code (NT), and Uniform Evidence Law.
- Ability to interact effectively with people from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
We offer a competitive salary, inclusive of superannuation, six weeks recreational and three weeks personal leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, career development, supported study, and the opportunity to experience the uniqueness of living and working in the Northern Territory.
