Job Title: Patient Liaison Officer - Client Support Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our team as a Patient Liaison Officer. As a key contact point for patients, clinicians, practice managers, and health funds, you will be responsible for ensuring all patients have adequate health cover and are provided with informed financial consent.

You will work closely with hospital caregivers to review eligibility, consent, and personal details related to patient admissions. Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively resolve patient queries and maintain regular communication with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality reception, switchboard, and clerical support as required.

  • Process patient admissions and discharge information in accordance with procedures.

  • Receive money from patients, e.g., credit card payments on admission.

  • Resolve patient queries regarding their cover at the admission centre, phone, or on the ward.

  • Contact health funds to discuss and acquire accurate information and clarification regarding patient coverage.

  • Maintain regular communication with Health Information and Inpatient Administration Manager.

  • Ensure maintenance of accurate and current information within the Patient Administration systems.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • An excellent understanding of hospital patient administration systems.

  • A willingness to work shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM, Monday to Sunday, across two locations.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to relate to hospital staff, patients, families, and medical staff.

  • Salary: $37.22 to $38.27 per hour (includes casual 25% loading) plus 11.5% superannuation.
