
Maritime Advisory Specialist

Job Description
- Deliver complex naval advisory projects, working closely with clients to provide expert guidance.
- Support business development efforts and contribute to the growth of our presence in the Australasia region.
- Promote our services and build strong relationships with naval stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Eligibility for security clearance from the Australian Department of Defence.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely-related discipline.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the naval sector, including its operational and regulatory landscape.
- Background as a Chief Engineer or equivalent senior engineering role (O-4 or O-5 rank) in the Royal Australian Navy or comparable naval service is advantageous.
- Extensive professional experience, with a strong foundation in naval marine engineering and consulting.
- Membership in relevant professional institutions and demonstrated continuous professional development through industry courses, certifications or defence-specific training programmes.
- Proven track record in technical advisory, ideally in a commercial setting, with demonstrable experience delivering complex projects to government or defence sector clients.
- Demonstrated business development and leadership capabilities, including business and strategic planning, developing client relationships and managing teams.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, appropriate to the requirements of the role.

- Contribute to client management as appropriate by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LR relationships.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor developments within the naval sector, identifying and recommending areas for research and future advisory development to enhance LR's competitive advantage.
- Represent LR, contributing to industry forums and supporting LR's reputation as a trusted advisor in the naval domain.
- Manage and develop the team to maintain an effective and competitive service.
