About the Role

Main Roads Western Australia is seeking an enthusiastic and technically skilled individual to grow professionally in the role of Planning Information Officer. This role requires the ability to interpret and apply planning legislation, and standards, and whilst not essential, a qualification in urban planning or civil engineering/drafting is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Planning Information Manager in managing road planning information data and statutory planning referral processes.
  • Contribute to the creation and enhancement of spatial data, procedures, systems, standards, and guidelines for the storage and retrieval of road planning information.
  • Respond to transport-related planning enquiries and statutory referrals.
  • Utilising computer-aided design (CAD) and geographic information systems (GIS), interpret technical and cadastral drawings and provide essential road planning related information and spatial services to both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in the preparation, storage, and retrieval of spatial data and digital information.
  • Knowledge of interpreting transport planning information and road designs.
  • Strong abilities in stakeholder engagement and customer relationship management.
  • An understanding of strategic and statutory land use planning processes.
