Information Security Director

Our client is a privately owned Australian organization operating in the residential construction sector, with head offices in Perth and Melbourne. With nearly 2,000 employees, they are experiencing rapid growth and are currently undergoing a significant digital and business transformation.
About the RoleAs the Head of Information Security, you will play a pivotal role in leading a growing security team, initially with three indirect reports, and will oversee the hiring of additional Security Analysts as needed. This role reports directly to the General Manager, Information Security (CISO) and you'll step in for them when necessary, including attending Board meetings if required.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and potentially expand the Information Security team, contributing to the overall cybersecurity strategy.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines, driving transformation projects across the Information Security department.
- Oversee security architecture, defining standards and design patterns.
- Represent the Information Security function in various forums, including Board meetings, as needed.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- 5+ years of experience managing or leading security teams of five or more people.
- A strong aspiration to become a CISO.
- Hands-on experience with the following security tools and technologies: PAM, EDR, SIEM, Email Security Tools, Password Management, DLP, and Phishing Simulation Tools.
- Solid understanding of cloud security.
- A proactive attitude and a passion for working in fast-paced, transformative environments.
- A personable, engaging style with a preference for working in an office environment.
