Job Summary:

DNV is seeking a skilled Offshore Class Surveyor to join our Australia Fleet in Service team. This role requires a qualified surveyor/auditor to work with a highly experienced team, surveying Offshore MoUs and various ship types across Australian Ports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform classification surveys and audits, adhering to DNV procedures and guidelines.
  • Liaise with Port and Flag states as necessary, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and integrity, upholding DNV's reputation.
  • Supervise and manage the work of others, ensuring efficient and economic outcomes.
  • Communicate important information to line management, promoting a culture of integrity.
  • Provide customer-oriented service, promoting DNV onboard and acting as a technical resource.
  • Participate in DNV's 'Be Well' program, prioritizing physical and mental wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering from a recognized institute.
  • Class-I Marine Engineer certificate of competency or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the maritime and classification industry, preferably with an IACS Classification Society.
  • Flexibility to travel and willingness to take unscheduled job calls.
  • Strong customer service orientation and proven record of managing maritime clients.
  • Good understanding of class and statutory requirements.
  • Ability to effectively manage digitalization and new business opportunities.
  • Team player with physical abilities necessary for regular classification functions.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Note: Successful candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment tests, including medical assessment and police security check. DNV will support visa applications, if required.
