DNV Maritime Region Southeast Asia, Pacific & India is seeking a highly skilled Offshore Class Surveyor to join their Australia Fleet in Service team. As a qualified surveyor/auditor, you will be part of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors surveying Offshore MoUs and various other ship types across Australian Ports. The position will be based in Perth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all work performed is in accordance with DNV rules, regulations, instructions, guidelines, and quality requirements.
  • Perform classification surveys and audits as per DNV procedure and guidelines, liaising with Port and Flag states as necessary.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of clients' business, processes, designs, developments, and documentation.
  • Supervise the work of others and ensure that it is carried out efficiently and economically.
  • Communicate important information to line management at the earliest opportunity.
  • Exhibit customer-oriented focus through promoting DNV onboard or on-site and acting as a technical resource for customer questions.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering from a recognized institute or Class-I Marine Engineer certificate of competency or equivalent.
  • A good understanding of maritime and offshore business with a minimum 5 years of experience in the maritime and classification industry. Experience with an IACS Classification Society working in Offshore Class is preferred.
  • Flexibility in travelling and a willingness to take unscheduled job calls when required.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a proven record of managing maritime clients.
  • A good understanding of class and statutory requirements.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage digitalization and new business opportunities.
  • A team player able to work independently on surveys.
  • Physical abilities necessary to perform regular classification functions, including voyage surveys, sea trials, and attendance in the anchorage.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment tests, which may include a medical assessment and police security check.
