Aboriginal Youth Support Worker Opportunity

Job Description

This role involves working directly with young Aboriginal people, providing support and care in various settings such as homes, schools, hospitals, community centers, and emergency accommodation. The primary objective is to build meaningful relationships with clients, create a safe and supportive environment, and facilitate their development through tailored programs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the individuals you support.
  • Deliver personalized care and support to participants, adhering to structured routines tailored to their unique needs.
  • Administer medications as required.
  • Transport clients to and from school, day programs, and appointments.
  • Assist in implementing developmentally designed programs for clients.
  • Prepare written reports documenting client progress and experiences.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you will need to possess or be willing to acquire certain skills and qualifications, including:

  • A current Working with Children Check.
  • A valid NDIS Worker Check.
  • A current First Aid Certificate.
  • A National Police Check.
  • A current driver's license and access to a vehicle capable of transporting up to 4 people.
  • Comprehensive car insurance.
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
  • The ability to work a 7-day shift roster.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical checks.
  • Two professional references.
