Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Theatre Technician to join our team. As a key member of the Operating Rooms, you will play a vital role in the safe and efficient passage of surgical patients during the peri-operative period.

You will be responsible for performing Theatre Technician duties with minimal supervision where appropriate, and providing guidance to less experienced staff members. Your work will involve a combination of 10 and 8 hour shifts at various operating suites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the smooth operation of the Operating Rooms, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • To assist Surgeons and Anaesthetists during surgical procedures, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • To perform various tasks as required, including preparing operating rooms, handling equipment, and assisting with patient care.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have completed a Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Operating Theatre Technical Support) or equivalent qualification. Additionally, you must possess proven experience as a Theatre Technician and satisfy competencies expected by Alfred Health as laid out in the Grade 2 Competency Booklet.
