Job Overview

This role presents an opportunity to work within a pioneering service dedicated to providing rapid, multidisciplinary assessment and acute care for patients with complex health needs who would otherwise require Emergency Department care.

The CALHN Urgent Care Hub BRIGHT operates seven days a week, including public holidays, as a same-day hospital avoidance service focused on supporting early discharge from acute sites and preventing unnecessary ED presentations and inpatient admissions.

As a Clinical Nurse within this hub, you will work alongside a dynamic multidisciplinary team to provide expert nursing care including assessment, clinical interventions, and care coordination in a clinic setting.

You will collaborate closely with a broad network of partners—including General Practitioners, SA Ambulance Service, pathology, pharmacy, acute services and community organisations—to ensure seamless, integrated care.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a current practising certificate
  • Minimum 3 years' post-registration experience, with proven competence in nursing practice and clinical assessment relevant to the role
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to adapt to changing environments and manage competing priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring junior staff, supporting discharge planning for complex patients, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives
