About the Role

This is a 6-month contract opportunity to work as a Network and Security Specialist with a large NSW government agency.

The successful candidate will ensure seamless network operations, managing security services and administering network systems for optimal performance across critical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure availability of network and security services along with monitoring and associated log integration.
  • Autonomously balance priorities for security, BAU support and project work.
  • Provide response to security-related incidents and alerts.
  • Multi-task to meet project deadlines and BAU service level agreements
  • Negotiate work priorities and scheduling with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other Digital and Business teams to ensure the best outcome for our customers.
  • Assist in security incident triage, root cause investigation and subsequent continuous improvement.
  • Provide performance metrics and dashboards for networking and security services.
  • Ensure adherence to agency's policy, process and frameworks.
  • Ensure risks and issues are identified and reported on a continual basis to the functional lead, ensuring customer focused delivery.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong technical expertise in operating and maintaining network and security services across multiple locations.
  • Proven ability to implement and support network and security technologies in diverse environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts in clear, simple terms to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and deliver effective technical solutions that meet business needs.
  • Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering, implementing, and managing new technology solutions to support business and digital transformation goals.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is $1100-$1200 per week, plus superannuation. Additional benefits include weekly payment and access to insurance options.
