Cybersecurity Specialist for NSW Government Agency

This is a 6-month contract opportunity to work as a Network and Security Specialist with a large NSW government agency.
The successful candidate will ensure seamless network operations, managing security services and administering network systems for optimal performance across critical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure availability of network and security services along with monitoring and associated log integration.
- Autonomously balance priorities for security, BAU support and project work.
- Provide response to security-related incidents and alerts.
- Multi-task to meet project deadlines and BAU service level agreements
- Negotiate work priorities and scheduling with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with other Digital and Business teams to ensure the best outcome for our customers.
- Assist in security incident triage, root cause investigation and subsequent continuous improvement.
- Provide performance metrics and dashboards for networking and security services.
- Ensure adherence to agency's policy, process and frameworks.
- Ensure risks and issues are identified and reported on a continual basis to the functional lead, ensuring customer focused delivery.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong technical expertise in operating and maintaining network and security services across multiple locations.
- Proven ability to implement and support network and security technologies in diverse environments.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts in clear, simple terms to non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and deliver effective technical solutions that meet business needs.
- Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience delivering, implementing, and managing new technology solutions to support business and digital transformation goals.
The salary for this role is $1100-$1200 per week, plus superannuation. Additional benefits include weekly payment and access to insurance options.
