
Renal Care Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a haemodialysis setting, adhering to organisational core values and standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care within the haemodialysis clinical setting.
- Protect patients' rights by adhering to Privacy Principles and providing an excellent standard of care.
- Responsible for own professional development and provides education to colleagues, patients and visitors.
- Maintain a safe, secure and healthy working environment and promote a comfortable, safe environment for visitors and patients.
- Participate in quality improvement processes by reporting incidents, hazards and opportunities for improvement.
- Complete clinical and mandatory competencies annually and perform defined management functions when required.
- Maintain accurate patient information in medical records and abide by confidentiality and Privacy Policy.
Competencies:
Essential- Registered as a general nurse with AHPRA and current practising certificate.
- Understanding of quality improvement process and risk management obligations.
- Demonstrated clinical competence and expertise (or working towards) in nephrology nursing.
- Ability to continuously reflect on nursing practice and apply learning as appropriate.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to operate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated organisational, decision-making and problem-solving skills combined with self-direction.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively perform staff and patient education.
- Knowledge of nursing, nephrology and other professional issues impacting on nursing practice within the specialty.
