Lead Mental Health Clinician

The new Expedited Specialist Pathway for consultant psychiatrists is now open. This provides an excellent opportunity to join a large referral hospital in Far North Queensland, servicing a population of over 250,000 people.

This progressive health service has a strong focus on emerging technology, excellence in healthcare, teaching, research, and empowerment of mentally ill individuals.

Quality mental health services are delivered across various settings including a 38 bed Acute Adult Mental Health Unit, 10 bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, 12 bed sub-acute Adult Unit, and a 20 bed Community Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team
  • Drive the delivery of best practice inpatient and community mental health and ATOD assessment and management programs
  • Oversee clinical governance and strategic planning
  • Deliver education and training to junior medical staff and mental health clinicians
