Job Description

This is a key leadership role within the Tasmanian Audit Office, responsible for overseeing the delivery of financial audit services and managing a team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the financial audit program, ensuring high-quality outcomes and compliance with auditing standards.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to staff, including senior managers, to achieve performance goals and objectives.
  • Undertake high-level assurance work, analyzing data and preparing reports to inform stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and external partners.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the Financial Audit Services team, ensuring alignment with the Office's goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or accounting/auditing certificate program.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in financial audit services or a related field, including management experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and prepare reports.
