About the Role

The Senior Financial Director will lead and direct all aspects of NRM South's financial operations, contributing to strategy and direction setting, growth pathways, and operational business improvements.

This senior management role reports to the CEO and works closely with the Leadership Team, Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee, the Board, Auditors, program teams, and other employees and key stakeholders.

The Senior Financial Director will utilise their extensive expertise and understanding of financial management, underpinned by excellent communication skills, to actively contribute to strategy and direction setting.

Responsibilities will encompass guiding the identification and execution of growth and change strategies, streamlining operational business processes and improvements, and ensuring robust financial governance.

The position will oversee a range of financial management services, including budget planning, payroll management, and financial health and operating efficiency.

The Senior Financial Director will also play a crucial role in mentoring and supporting the professional development of the operational Finance Officer, fostering a collaborative and effective finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct all aspects of NRM South's financial operations

About NRM South

NRM South is a not-for-profit organisation, one of three natural resource management bodies in Tasmania, and part of a national network of 54 similar bodies.

We have a partnership delivery model, delivering projects on behalf of Australian and Tasmanian Governments, and through investment from our local, business, and industry partners.

We are responsible for identifying the region's priorities for natural resource management, working with the community to prepare a regional NRM strategy, and facilitating its implementation.
