Job Title: Planning Officer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Planning Officer to join our team in supporting strategic planning and policy initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and experience in policy development, strategic planning or land use planning.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on communities through effective planning and policy work.

You will contribute to housing delivery, economic development and infrastructure planning to help make NSW communities more resilient and liveable.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform strategic planning and policy recommendations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of planning policies, strategies and statutory rezoning projects.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and community groups, to achieve planning objectives.
  • Support infrastructure coordination and land use planning to enable sustainable development.
  • Provide input into policy reviews to improve planning frameworks and processes.
  • Brief planning panels on rezoning projects.

Please note that this role focuses on the North and East of Greater Sydney and the Central Coast.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant planning and environmental legislation and processes.
  • Tertiary degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Willingness to travel and Class C Driver's Licence for regional positions.
