At Baptcare Careers, we're seeking a dedicated Family Services Specialist to join our team in the North West region of Tasmania. As a key member of our Foster and Kinship Care team, you will play a vital role in supporting children, young people, and their caregivers.

The ideal candidate will possess strong assessment and case management skills, as well as demonstrated interpersonal and advocacy skills. They will work effectively in collaboration with the child's care team to promote the best interests of the child/children and ensure their safety and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive carer assessments and providing ongoing support within a co-created placement support plan;
  • Working therapeutically with culturally and linguistically diverse families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people;
  • Engaging with statutory clients and working within complex child safety systems;
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective interventions.

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, or a related field, and at least two years' experience in a similar position. You will also possess a current motor vehicle license, ability and willingness to travel, and satisfactory National Crime Check results.
