Salary

We offer a competitive hourly rate, plus relevant award entitlements, including penalty rates, overtime, and allowances, as well as superannuation. Based on industry standards, we estimate this role to be remunerated in the range of $45-$60 per hour.

About the Role

This hands-on position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. As a Groundsperson, you will assist with various tasks related to garden maintenance, such as hedging, weeding, pruning, and mulching. You will also operate hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively under the guidance of experienced team members.

Responsibilities

  • Garden Maintenance Tasks: Assist with various garden maintenance tasks, including but not limited to hedging, weeding, pruning, and mulching.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely and effectively operate hand tools and power equipment under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload materials, plants, and equipment from trucks and trailers.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Safety Protocols: Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or a related field is preferred.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Weather Conditions: Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sun.
  • Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Teamwork: Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Valid Licenses: Valid Driver's Licence and White Card required. Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
