About the Position

We are seeking a part-time Perinatal Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Ngala in Kensington. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in connecting parents who are struggling with mental health issues during pregnancy and early parenthood to critical support services in their state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify state-wide perinatal mental health support services and referral pathways
  • Build productive relationships and stakeholder engagement with clients, families, healthcare professionals, and support service providers
  • Connect and care for families through tasks such as intake, screening, triaging, and allocation to local services
  • Ensure effective coordination and integration of services, timely and accurate record-keeping, and project monitoring
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess a Bachelor or Diploma in Social Work, Nursing, or Psychology, and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). You will also have knowledge and understanding of mental health issues in antenatal, birth, and postnatal periods, including maternal and infant health, parenting, and current trends in perinatal infant mental health.
