Water Sector Leadership Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate / Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our water team in Newcastle.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with extensive experience delivering complex engineering solutions in the water sector, particularly in mechanical design, commissioning, and operations across large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership during project delivery and oversee mechanical design intent, equipment selection, and installation practices.
  • Collaborate with bid teams to ensure alignment of mechanical design during tender phases, review technical documentation, refine cost estimates, and develop competitive proposals.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to define scopes, engage vendors, and coordinate equipment selection.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, act as a key technical liaison to present solutions confidently, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Proven leadership in mechanical design for water or wastewater treatment projects is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience are crucial.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering platforms, such as BIM/Revit, is desirable.
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and lead teams through project phases including planning, options development, concept, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
