At the University of South Australia, we are seeking an exceptional leader to drive our strategic engagement with the defence and space sectors. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining high-quality partnerships with companies and government agencies in these sectors domestically and internationally.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of achievement in defence, government, or university sectors, with expertise in business development and related disciplines. They will also have exceptional understanding of industry, professional, and government environments in Australia and internationally, as well as experience developing and implementing strategic plans and leading large programs of work.

This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their capability in driving revenue generation through educational, training, research, and innovation partnerships, as well as their commitment to supporting defence and space-related activities.

We offer a competitive salary package of AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, plus benefits such as generous superannuation contributions, flexible working conditions, and access to great personal development opportunities. About the Role

This role is responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to drive revenue generation through defence and space sector partnerships
  • Building and maintaining high-quality relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, government agencies, and academia
  • Leading large programs of work and managing teams to achieve strategic outcomes
  • Providing guidance and advice on defence and space sector-related activities and initiatives
