We are seeking a highly skilled and culturally sensitive Registered Nurse to join our team as a Lecturer. This is an identified position that requires the applicant to be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
This role involves teaching, assessing, and mentoring nursing students in various settings. You will have the opportunity to develop and deliver First Nations units for Diploma, Bachelor, and Master's level courses, ensuring cultural sensitivity and appropriateness.
Key Responsibilities:- Lecturing, teaching, assessing, and marking nursing students
- Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments
- Teaching lecture and tutorial classes
- Developing First Nations units for nursing courses
- Advising on the suitability of other units from a First Nations perspective
- Assisting in the development of support services and systems for First Nations students
- Coordinating and/or leading activities of other staff teaching in the same discipline
- 5 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated lived experience and broader understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and engagement with community
- Strong understanding of theory and practice
- Excellent presentation and leadership skills
