The Field Organiser role plays a pivotal part in our organisation, focusing on the development and implementation of effective campaigns and strategies to assist members in achieving fairness at work, job security, and better pay and conditions.

This position is accountable for developing and implementing initiatives to recruit new members and grow our union. It requires collaboration with delegates and workplace leaders to build power and drive results for our members.

A key aspect of this role is engaging with non-members and existing members to foster commitment and activism. Additionally, it involves supporting and empowering delegates and workplace leaders to take action and advocate for their rights.

To excel in this position, you will require:

  • A strong commitment to union values and principles.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to lead, organise, build relationships, motivate, and develop individuals or groups.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to plan and organise work effectively, achieving desired outcomes.
  • Semi-autonomous working capabilities, demonstrating initiative, drive, and resilience in a changing environment.
