We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead our education initiatives and contribute to the growth and capacity of the Australian trade union movement.

About This Role

">

This fixed-term position will focus on delivering high-quality training and education programs, as well as conducting research that furthers the interests of workers. You will work closely with WA branches of ACTU affiliates and Unions WA.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and deliver cutting-edge education programs that contribute to the organisation's growth and capacity agenda.
  2. Contribute to the development and sharing of innovative resources within the union movement.
  3. Work with individual unions on education and development, capacity building, and change.
  4. Facilitate, support, and work at various times on affiliates and movement organising projects, pilots, and campaigns.
  5. Support program participants in a variety of settings and the active development of supportive learning environments.
  6. Establish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships between the organisation and its affiliates.
  7. Undertake assessment and evaluation of learning outcomes.
  8. Review current course offerings for organisers and industrial staff with a view to creating a series of modularised shorter courses.
  9. Trail the delivery of developed modules with WA-based affiliates of the organisation.
  10. Review the modularised courses and update content and materials following the review.

  • Demonstrated commitment to the Australian trade union movement, its values, policies, programs, and organisational structures.
  • Demonstrated high-level capacity in one of the fields of industrial, organising, or WHS.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate education in a variety of settings.
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to be proactive and show initiative.
  • Commitment and ability to provide feedback in an adult learning environment and a demonstrated ability to motivate others.
