System Operations Specialist Role

Job Overview

This position involves playing a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of critical infrastructure and systems. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for promptly responding to alerts and alarms, assessing severity, prioritizing rectification, and determining whether escalation is necessary to external contractors.

  • Regularly inspect all critical infrastructure to ensure it is operating as designed and identify any potential risks to the infrastructure and buildings.
  • Monitor critical infrastructure around the clock and make swift decisions on prioritization and escalation based on experience.
  • Assist with monitoring all contractors conducting critical work and ensure adherence to pre-defined procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Respond quickly to all service requests and emergency faults.
  • Perform initial fault finding on equipment, determine the cause, and implement remediation of the fault.
  • Provide estimated timelines for repairs with key internal teams to coordinate communications with clients.
  • Carry out critical switching in the event of a failure to prevent disruption to critical services.
  • Ensure all planned contractor maintenance activities are completed in accordance with procedures and company policies.
  • Timely handover of work to ensure a seamless transition between shifts.
  • Conduct daily site reviews to ensure all infrastructure is operating correctly.
  • Assist with addressing issues identified within maintenance reports.
  • Communicate all identified risks immediately upon discovery.
  • Provide support to clients as required or directed by management.
  • Enforce safe working practices in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Assist with developing procedures for critical maintenance and emergency operations.
  • Support business-as-usual operations.
