Job Title: Digital Data Science Leader

 

Job Description

 

  • Guide clients through complex transformations to unlock business potential by leveraging machine learning and AI.
  • Develop full-stack data analytics and machine learning solutions for diverse problem spaces and industries, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest algorithms and trends in data science, continually improving existing solutions and exploring new opportunities.
  • Provide expertise on industry/functional topics, sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.
  • Lead the development of a vision, mission, and core values for the data science team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

 

  • Hold a Master's or PhD degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Senior Data Scientist in a business setting, with a proven track record of delivering impactful insights.
  • Fluent spoken and written English language skills.
  • Ability to tailor complex messages into simplified, business-applicable material for key stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for client-facing engagements.

 

Technical Skills

 

  • Proficiency in machine learning model development, training, validation, and application.
  • Mathematical disciplines including linear algebra, calculus, probabilistic models, and statistics.
  • Data manipulation techniques, including ETL/ETLV.
  • Experience with R, Python, or Scala scripting techniques.
  • Competency in graph/noSQL database techniques and RDBMS platforms like Oracle and MS SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience developing in Java and .NET languages.
  • Experience using and developing RESTful and SOAP web services.

  • Versatility, flexibility, and proactivity when resolving technical issues and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Understanding business requirements and translating them into well-engineered technical solutions.
  • Commitment to quality and timely delivery; ability to establish and meet milestones and deadlines.

  • Proven ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, and management.
