General Manager Education & Training Role

As a senior leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of surf life saving education and training in South Australia.

The General Manager Education & Training is responsible for leading the strategic direction of education and training delivery, including volunteer development, commercial programs, and compliance as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). The successful applicant will have demonstrated leadership experience in training, education, or learning and development, preferably within a complex or multi-stakeholder environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership of Education & Training: Provide oversight and leadership for education portfolio, spanning both commercial and member-based training.
  • Commercial Training Growth & Development: Lead the strategic growth and diversification of training programs.
  • Member Training & Lifesaving Capability: Design and implement training systems that drive engagement, flexibility, and increased award completion.
  • Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Governance: Ensure compliance with ASQA and VET sector expectations.
  • Stakeholder & Sector Engagement: Build relationships with government agencies, partner organisations, industry bodies, and funders to strengthen position as a leading training provider.

Requirements:

  • Leadership experience in training, education, or learning and development.
  • Sound working knowledge of the VET Quality Framework and relevant regulatory obligations.
  • Capability to serve as nominated senior executive of an RTO.
