Key Responsibilities

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to take ownership of the national payroll function for a workforce of over 700 employees.

In this role, you'll lead the charge on optimising systems and processes, including playing a key role in the review and potential implementation of a new payroll system.

  • Manage and oversee end-to-end weekly and fortnightly in-house payroll processing, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Oversee payroll reporting, reconciliations, and workers' compensation processes with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across payroll systems, identifying and implementing opportunities for increased efficiency and automation.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing payroll team, while ensuring strict confidentiality and the integrity of payroll data.
Requirements

A minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership capacity.

In-depth knowledge of payroll operations, legislation, and compliance requirements.

Demonstrated experience managing payroll functions, ideally within the construction industry.

Prior involvement in payroll system implementation is highly desirable.

Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Outstanding communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.

Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while consistently meeting deadlines.
