Job Title: Director of Teaching and Learning

Lake Joondalup Baptist College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Teaching and Learning to join our team.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in shaping the educational direction of our college. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our curriculum, ensuring that it aligns with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of our curriculum, ensuring it is innovative, dynamic, and aligned with educational standards.
  • Oversee the team responsible for curriculum design, alignment, and teacher development.
  • Ensure successful student learning remains the central consideration in all aspects of curriculum development and implementation.
  • Build and promote relationships with teaching staff based on trust and respect for their expertise.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to creating and nurturing child-safe environments.
  • Represent the college positively and with integrity to students, parents, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain productive partnerships with parents, involving them in the curriculum discussion and development process.
  • Ensure the curriculum contributes to creating an inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in education or a related field is desirable.
  • Extensive experience in educational leadership.
  • Depth of understanding of educational standards and best practices.
  • Relevant registrations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage staff performance well with support from HR.
