Mater Dei College Seeks Experienced Basketball Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to lead our Basketball Academy as Director of Basketball. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, programming, and organizing classes, sessions, games, and tournaments to promote learning and involvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach basketball fundamentals and improve individual and team performance
  • Foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership among students
  • Communicate regularly with parents, school staff, and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • High level of professionalism and commitment to the Catholic ethos
  • Experience as a basketball coach, program director, or basketball teacher
  • Bachelor's degree in health and physical education or related field
  • Relevant coaching certifications and knowledge of first aid/safety protocols

Terms of Employment:

  • Hold a current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA)
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWC)
  • Hold, or be working towards completion of, Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School, Accreditation to Teach Religious Education, or Accreditation for Leadership in Catholic Schools

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum
  • Understanding of current educational perspectives
  • Experience working with high school students
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
