Surgical Team Member

As a Surgical Team Member, you will work in an experienced environment where surgeons, medicine specialists, and support staff collaborate to provide the highest level of patient care.

A well-equipped hospital is located in Victoria's thoroughbred breeding region. The team consists of veterinary specialists with extensive experience in equine surgery, medicine, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, lameness, and reproduction.

The hospital team is supported by nursing, stable, and laboratory staff. With a purpose-built hospital and on-site laboratory, our team provides 24-hour specialist care for horses.

Your Role

As a Surgical Team Member, you will contribute to the daily function of the surgery by working alongside surgeons, interns, anaesthetists, nurses, and support team. You will have the opportunity to develop your skill set through training and cultivating junior nurses in surgery to maintain the high level of patient care.

You will work closely with other departments at the hospital and foster those internal working relationships. There is a well-managed after-hours system in place.

Main Responsibilities

Key Requirements
  • Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing or higher qualification
  • Experience in equine surgery
