About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Maha Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will work closely with our Group Head Chef to develop and deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare menus in collaboration with our owner and Group Head Chef, ensuring a consistent and high-quality product.
• Maintain a well-stocked and organized kitchen, ensuring adequate supplies at all cooking stations.
• Collaborate with the Group Head Chef to implement new menu ideas and presentation styles.
• Optimize cooking processes to ensure speed and quality, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Enforce strict health and hygiene standards, adhering to industry regulations and best practices.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting open communication and collaboration among kitchen staff.
• Manage costs and resources effectively, ensuring efficient use of materials and labor.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a senior kitchen role, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position.
• Excellent culinary skills, with a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure, with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of best practices in kitchen management, including inventory control and waste reduction.
• Relevant trade certificate or equivalent experience.
• Eligibility to work in Australia in a full-time capacity.
