Job Overview

The Gatehouse Security Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the site. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing vehicle movement, access control, and visitor passes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Vehicle Movement Management: Manage the flow of vehicles on-site, ensuring seamless entry and exit procedures.
  • Access Control: Implement robust access control measures to secure the site, including monitoring CCTV surveillance and responding to alarms.
  • Visitor Passes: Issue permanent and temporary staff security access cards, contractor, and visitor passes, while maintaining accurate records.
  • Security Risk Management: Identify and report any security risks to the client contact and client services manager, ensuring prompt action is taken.
  • Patrols: Conduct internal and external foot patrols to detect potential security breaches.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Current QLD Security Licence: Possess a current QLD Security Licence, including Unarmed Guard, Crowd Control, and Monitoring.
  • First Aid Certificate: Hold a current First Aid Certificate, including CPR.
  • Drivers Licence: Possess a valid Drivers Licence.

Essential Requirements:
  • Availability: Be available to work both afternoon and night shifts (between 4pm and 8am), including weekends and public holidays.

  • Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 year's demonstrated experience in a similar role(s).
  • Autonomy: Work autonomously, with minimal supervision.
  • Communication: Display excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organisation: Show organisation, outcome, and deadline orientation.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Problem Solving: Exhibit problem-solving ability and conflict resolution skills.
